Former White House press secretary Jay Carney has accepted a job working for Jeffrey Bezos, the Amazon founder who also owns The Washington Post.

Mr. Carney, who departed as President Obama’s chief spokesman last summer, will join Amazon on Monday as senior vice president for worldwide corporate affairs, splitting his time between Washington and Seattle. Politico first reported the move, saying Mr. Carney will report directly to Mr. Bezos.

A former reporter for Time magazine, Mr. Carney has been working as an analyst for CNN since leaving the White House.
