Rush Limbaugh, conservative radio rock star, referenced actress Patricia Arquette’s politicized acceptance speech on income equality at the Oscars and said her public scolding was little more than a show of hypocrisy.

Ms. Arquette spoke about the need for women to make as much money as men with such passion that fellow actress Meryl Streep wildly applauded in the audience. But Mr. Limbaugh said: Hollywood ought to take the log out of its own eye first.

For instance, recent reports indicated that Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams earned far less than their male counterparts in the movie, “American Hustle.” And Mr. Limbaugh said, why don’t the male actors in Hollywood, “to show that they’re good liberals and that they’re all about fairness and that they are devoted to equality,” demand equal pay for their female co-stars, Mediaite reported.

It’s hypocritical that they don’t, he said.

“[And] until Hollywood fixes its own house, until Hollywood can make itself the exemplar of perfection, [they should] shut up,” he said, Mediaite reported.
