Israel is ripping a deal that’s emerging between the United States and Iran, saying that the agreement seems to reward Tehran for good behavior by backing off restrictions in a 10-year timeframe — and opening the door for the regime to make nuclear weapons.
The deadline for the deal is March 31, and officials in the know said there are still details to work out, The Associated Press reported. Among the details: The international community would slowly lift sanctions on Iran’s economy and uranium enrichment program, if the nation shows no nuclear development progress and abides by current restrictions for the next 10 years.
“We made progress, said U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, AP reported.
And Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the two countries had found “a better understanding,” AP reported.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to object to the agreement during his congressional presentation set for next week.
Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon warned the agreement would prove “a great danger” for the West, as it would “allow Iran to become a nuclear threshold state,” AP reported.
