Ben Woolf, the 34-year-old actor who played the character of Meep on the hit “American Horror Story” television show, died Monday from a head injury suffered when he was hit by a side mirror from a passing car.

TMZ reported that he was clipped in the head by an SUV as he crossed a street in Hollywood. The driver wasn’t arrested because Woolf had been jaywalking, the media outlet reported.

“We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support over the world for our beloved Ben,” the family said in a statement reported by TMZ. “He touched so many hearts in his 34 years.”

He was hit last week and was in a coma. Woolf never recovered and died. His organs are expected to help about 50 people, TMZ reported.
