Apple has given the OK to new beta updates to its operating system that will provide a new menu of emoji skin shades.

Unicode Consortium, an organization that develops new software, updated the skin tones, The Guardian reported. Apple hasn’t said when the new selections will go live.

The new offerings come amid criticisms of the company’s lack of racial diversity in its emoji characters. The three Apple offered included a man wearing a cossack hat, a man with brown skin wearing a turban and another man with smaller and slanted eye wearing a traditional Chinese skull cap.

Now these three men will be able to come in a variety of skin tones, The Guardian reported. Apple has also added new same-sex relationship emojis, part of the 300 or so new planned characters.
