A massive snowstorm coursing through Jerusalem has boxed in the ancient city, leaving vehicles unable to enter or exit because all of the roads are closed.

The desert’s been topped with a layer of white — a rare occurrence, The Associated Press reported.

More is on the way: Another cold front swept into the Middle East on Friday, dumping up to 10 inches in parts of the city and blasting Gaza with heavy, icy rains.

Meanwhile, the desert towns of Beersheba, Dimona and Yerucham have been hit with an unusual amount of snow, and residents there are taking photographs of their snowmen, AP said.
