Rep. Duncan Hunter told a Fox News television audience that President Obama — with his reluctance to name radical Islam as the root of recent acts of terror and his warning against profiling of American Muslims — sounds more like he’s leading a local law enforcement department than the U.S. military and populace.

Specifically, Mr. Hunter referred to Mr. Obama’s Wednesday’s speech on fighting extremism and accompanying caution of extra surveillance of Muslims, and said such remarks only show him as a weak national leader.

“He ought to be the mayor of a city talking this way to law enforcement,” Mr. Hunter told Greta Van Susteren during an “On the Record” segment.

Mr. Duncan then blamed the rise of the Islamic State on Mr. Obama and Joint Chiefs Chairman Martin Dempsey, due to their withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.

“They literally caused this problem,” he said, Newsmax reported.
