ARLINGTON, Wash. (AP) - It’s been several weeks since anyone reported seeing a pet wallaby that escaped more than a month ago near Arlington, Washington. The owner of the Outback Kangaroo Farm says the search for Bella is over.

The Daily Herald of Everett reports (https://is.gd/Relxrn ) that Bella escaped Jan. 9 while being transferred from a cage in the back of a truck to a pen at the kangaroo farm. Farm owner Ray Strom and his wife had agreed to temporarily house Bella and two other wallabies. He says the other two have settled in well among the farm’s 42 kangaroos.

No one knows what happened to Bella but winter weather and predators posed risks.

Arlington is about 40 miles north of Seattle.
