RICHMOND, Va. — Jonquel Jones recorded her 16th double-double of the season with 15 points and a career-high tying 18 rebounds to help No. 24 George Washington beat VCU 65-57 on Wednesday night.

She added five assists and six blocks.

Caira Washington had 16 points and 12 rebounds, Hannah Schaible added 13 points and Lauren Chase 10 for George Washington (23-3, 12-1 Atlantic 10). The Colonials have now won back-to-back games after having their 19-game winning streak snapped at Saint Louis.

Schaible scored eight of George Washington’s first 12 points and her three-point play at the 6:18 mark gave the Colonials a 22-12 lead. Their lead extended to 31-26 at the break.

George Washington opened the second half on a 12-4 run, with 10 points from Jones and Washington.

Isis Thorpe led VCU (14-12, 5-8) with 17 points and Chadarryl Clay had 15. The Rams had their losing skid extended to five games.
