Tony Perkins, the president of the Family Research Council, said the United States ought to give refugee status to the thousands of Christians who are being targeted by Islamic State terrorists.

The problem, however, is that President Obama and his administration refuse to even acknowledge that the 21 Egyptians beheaded by the terror group were targeted for their Christianity, he said. Rather, a White House statement called them “Egyptian citizens,” Newsmax reported.

“ISIS made very clear in this video that this was an execution of ’People of the Cross,’ ” Mr. Perkins said during an interview on “The Kelly File” on Fox News. “ISIS apparently has no difficulty saying ’Christian’ while the White House has a very difficult time.”

Mr. Perkins said that refusal to recognize the genocide against Christianity is “troubling,” Newsmax reported.

He went on: “Why not say to these Christians who are being killed for their faith that they’re welcome to come here and have refugee status here in the United States or safe haven here in the United States?”
