Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said comedian Tina Fey may mock her endlessly on “Saturday Night Live,” but that doesn’t mean the two aren’t friends.

“Have I helped her career, or has she helped mine? I keep thinking, man, Tina, you should be paying for my kids’ braces or something,” Mrs. Palin said during the 40th anniversary celebration for the comedy show, the New York Daily News’ Confidenti@l column reported.

Mrs. Palin also said she admires Ms. Fey, and that the two are actually buddies.

“She’s so good,” Mrs. Palin said, the New York Daily News reported. “I really, really respect her and her work ethic and her capitalization, really, on the opportunity. Really, I’ll do a double take every time I see her, an old rerun, or a picture of her. I’m like, man, oh, it’s Tina, yeah … I think she’s great.”
