Terrorists with the Islamic State have burned to death 45 people from the town of al-Baghdadi in the western portion of Iraq, a local police official said Tuesday.

It’s not clear why these people were targeted, but some were part of the local security force, Col. Qasim al-Obeidi told the BBC.

One of the compounds that houses the families of security officials came under attack by Islamic State terrorists, too, Mr. Obeidi said, the news outlet reported.

The terror group captured the town, located near Ain al-Asad air base, a week ago. Islamic State terrorists caused international outrage by burning to death a Jordanian pilot and posting the video of the atrocity online.
