New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie slammed President Obama’s overseas policies while at a stop in New Hampshire on Monday, saying that “America has lost respect in the world” and questioning whether U.S. allies know what it means to be the country’s friend anymore.

“This president had the audacity to tell us that terrorism is on the run as they’re burning a Jordanian pilot alive, as they’re beheading hostages. Does terrorism look like it’s on the run?” Mr. Christie said, the Boston Herald reported. “I am 52 years old, and I don’t believe that I have ever lived in a time in my life when the world was a more dangerous and scary place.”

Mr. Christie, in his first trip to the early presidential state since the November 2014 midterms, was speaking at the Concord & Merrimack County GOP 3rd annual Lincoln Reagan Day Dinner.

“I almost feel bad for the president. He’s like a man wandering around in a dark room, feeling along the wall for the light switch of leadership,” Mr. Christie said. “So many of these problems are solvable, but they’re only solvable through the exertion of strong leadership by the person sitting in the Oval Office.”

Mr. Christie, who has made recent trips to Iowa and Illinois and is scheduled to speak to Michigan Republicans next month, said he’d be in New Hampshire as often as he believes he needs to be if he decides to be a candidate.

According to The Associated Press, he also took a shot at Democratic Gov. Maggie Hassan Monday.

“She will use this platform as a way to increase her own visibility and run for the next job,” Mr. Christie said. “Let’s be careful. We’ve got enough of those types in Washington, D.C., already. We don’t need you to send any more there.”
