A 17-year-old California teen shot and killed himself Monday during a game of Russian roulette.

The teen reportedly pressed two other minors at a home in Torrance into playing, ABC’s local affiliate reported. He then put a bullet in the chamber of the .38-caliber handgun and spun the cylinder, placing the barrel to his head and pulling the trigger, police said.

Authorities rushed to the home shortly after midnight and transported the teen to a hospital, where he died a short time later. His name wasn’t released.
