Saudi Arabia’s government-run press issued a scathing statement about the three Muslims who were killed, execution style, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, saying the act was tantamount to terrorism and that violence against those of the Islam faith needed to come to an immediate halt.

Specifically, Saudi Press Agency termed the shooting deaths of Deah Barekat, 23, his wife, Yusor Abu-Salha, 21, and Razan Abu-Salha, 19, as “heinous terrorist” acts, the Daily Mail reported.

The kingdom also condemned the fatal attacks of two in Denmark as similar “terrorist” acts, the newspaper said.

A rally in Qatar to show solidarity for the families of those killed in North Carolina brought out thousands, the Daily Mail reported.

Police arrested Craig Stephen Hicks, 46, and charged him with the murder of those three Muslim students, while some in the American-Muslim community have termed the shootings as hate crimes based on religious discrimination.
