A newspaper in North Carolina issued what’s being described as the “nuttiest” correction of the year — a clarification for a headline that mistakenly summarized a letter-writer’s characterization of President Obama as “the Antichrist.”
The correction, in the Lexington Dispatch, stated: “Boyd Thomas’ letter Saturday contained an error in the headline. He does not believe President Obama is the Antichrist, who will come after seven kinds, according to Revelation. He thinks Obama could be the seventh king,” The Huffington Post reported.
The correction pertains to a letter-to-the-editor that was published in the newspaper on Feb. 6, that was originally titled: “Is Obama the Antichrist?” The headline has since been changed to reflect the letter-writer’s truer intent: “Is Obama the seventh king?”
The Houston Chronicle weighed in on the newspaper’s correction, calling it “one of the nuttiest corrections of the year,” The Huffington Post reported.
