Get ready for the all new, much sexier version of the country’s best-selling vehicle, the Toyota Camry. Rocking a sportier package for 2015 and turning heads with tweaks like an overhaul that highlights attention to the all-new exterior styling, better handling and a sexier look, the 2015 Camry offers more space for passengers in the front and back seats and luxury coupled with a sportier feel perfect for the family sedan market.

Class competition includes the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Nissan Altima and the Mazda 6, but the trim options on the Camry and the upgrades still make the Toyota stand out in the world of family vehicles.

A five-passenger vehicle, the 2015 Toyota Camry offers LE, SE, XSE and XLE trim levels as well as a Camry Hybrid version too.

On the LE, which is the base you get 16-inch steel wheels, automatic headlights, heated mirrors, keyless entry, a rearview camera, cruise control, eight-way power driver seat and a 60/40-split folding rear seat with cloth upholstery. There are also the tech necessities like Bluetooth phone and audio connect, the 6.1-inch Entune touchscreen and a CD player with an audio jack USB/iPod interface.

Taking that up a notch the SE offers 17-inch alloy wheels, sport-tuned suspension, standout interior and exterior design tweaks, and leather upholstery with a leather-trimmed steering wheel too. Additional technology goodies include satellite and HD radio and a trip computer.

The SE offers a sunroof add-on, too.

On the XSE, you get all the SE goodies with 18-inch alloy wheels instead of the 17-inch, LED running lamps, heated front seats and a dual-zone automatic climate control.

On the XSE and the SE, there is the opportunity to add on a Convenience package on the four-cylinder versions, which will give you keyless ignition and entry and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

The top-of-the-line XLE trim has the XSE package with 17-inch alloy wheels and all leather inside.

Toyota also offers its customers a number of optional goodies on the XSE and XLE like LED headlights, noise-reducing windshield, sunroof, seven-inch upgraded touchscreen interface and smart phone charging.

Also, look for the Advanced Technology package with lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision warning and braking and automatic high beams.

Under the hood, the 2015 Toyota Camry is a front-wheel drive, six-speed, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 178 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque and a standard transmission.

The XSE and XLE trims can also be had with a 3.5-liter V6 engine putting out 268 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque on a front-wheel drive, six-speed automatic.

Safety is an area where the 2015 Toyota Camry shines, offering standards like antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, a rearview camera and front and rear side, front and rear side curtain and front knee airbags.

Of course with the optional packages and appropriate trims like the XSE and XLE. there are the additional features like blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, a lane-departure warning system and a pre-collision system utilizing the adaptive cruise-control sensors to anticipate and avoid impending collisions.

For interior comfort, you can’t go wrong with the 2015 Camry because there is plenty of room all over, and buttons and knobs are user friendly, bigger and give the interior an added look of style.

The trunk is average size, still large enough however at 15.4 cubic feet. The Camry also offers the Entune touchscreen and it’s easy to navigate as needed.

Behind the wheel, you won’t be disappointed with the new 2015 Camry. Just sitting in the driver’s seat you feel the difference this year, and do take particular note of the suspension and steering, which is meant to impress — and it certainly does as you round the corners and take the road.

Should You Need to Know: At the Chicago Auto Show this week Toyota executives touted the 2016 Toyota Camry as the one to watch with a limited production of next year’s model offered this fall in a limited production of 12,000 units, count on even sexier sport/technology additions.

Miles Per Gallon: In the 2015 Toyota Camry XSE mpg came in at 21 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.

Cost: The 2015 Toyota Camry XSE with the Technology package had a price tag of $35,686.
