The House Republicans’ campaign arm said Wednesday that former Vice President Dick Cheney will headline their annual March dinner next month.
“Vice President Dick Cheney is a dedicated public servant and we are honored to have him as our keynote speaker for this year’s March Dinner,” said Rep. Greg Walden, Oregon Republican and chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), also calling Mr. Cheney a “true patriot.”
“The vice president has worked tirelessly to protect our freedom and improve the lives of all Americans during his time, both in the House of Representatives and the White House,” Mr. Walden said. “We are grateful for all of his hard work and all he continues to do for both our country and party.”
While former President George W. Bush has largely declined to publicly criticize President Obama since leaving office in 2009, Mr. Cheney, who served under Mr. Bush, has offered his own sharp criticism of the Obama administration, notably on foreign policy issues.
The dinner will be on March 24 in Washington.
