Dennis Schnurr, the archbishop of Cincinnati, is warning Christians that the upcoming “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie is presented as a “romance” — but that is sheep’s clothing.

On the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Facebook page, he wrote: “The story line is presented as a romance; however, the underlying theme is that bondage, dominance and sadomasochism are normal and pleasurable.”

He said the story is about a young woman who signs a contract to become a sex slave, and enter an ’abusive and degrading relationship,” he wrote.

“This movie is in direct contrast to the Christian message of God’s design for self-giving and self-sacrificing love, marriage and sexual intimacy,” Mr. Schnurr wrote. “The movie is a direct assault on Christian marriage and on the moral and spiritual strength of God’s people. We need to inform our people about the destructive message of this movie.”

FOX 19 NOW said that Mr. Schnurr wasn’t explicitly calling for a boycott of the movie, but he did want his message to circulate among the Christian community.
