Hillary Clinton can no longer claim she logged the most miles traveling the world as secretary of state – John Kerry just surpassed her.

Mr. Kerry broke Mrs. Clinton’s benchmark for total miles traveled and flight time as Secretary of State, according to the State Department’s travel tracker.

On his week long tour of Europe that ended earlier this month, Mr. Kerry has now officially logged 957,744 miles on the job, spending about 87 days in travel, compared with Mrs. Clinton’s 956,733 miles, and about 86.8 days of travel.

Mrs. Clinton’s supporters have boasted of her time and travel as secretary as a credential to become the next president of the United States.

Republican presidential contender Carly Fiorina has been critical of the benchmark, saying on the stump: “Flying is an activity, not an accomplishment.”

Mrs. Clinton is still hanging on to one record though: That of countries visited while serving as America’s top diplomat. Mr. Kerry has so far been to 77, while Mrs. Clinton traveled to 112.
