ASHBURN — Derek Carrier practiced on Saturday for the first time this week, but the Washington Redskins’ tight end will be questionable for Monday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Carrier sustained a high left ankle sprain and Achilles’ sprain in last week’s 20-14 win against the New York Giants and was limited on Saturday.

Wide receiver DeSean Jackson was present at practice but did not participate because of an upper respiratory illness and is listed as probable. Inside linebacker Keenan Robinson (shoulder), wide receiver Andre Roberts (knee inflammation), cornerbacks Quinton Dunbar and Deshazor Everett (hamstring), and running back Chris Thompson (shoulder) are all listed as questionable.

Robinson has been inactive the last three games with a variety of unspecified shoulder injuries and was limited in practice all week. On Saturday, coach Jay Gruden confirmed that veteran Mason Foster will start at inside linebacker against Dallas. Dunbar dislocated his left index finger against the Giants and was limited in practice this week but is expected to play on Monday.

The Redskins also waived strong safety Trenton Robinson, who has been inactive the last two games with a hamstring injury. Gruden said that Robinson tweaked the injury two days ago, which prompted the decision to place him on waivers. If Robinson clears waivers, the team can place him on injured reserve.

“Probably going to be some time before he gets back,” Gruden said.

The fourth-year safety started seven games for the Redskins after Duke Ihenacho fractured his wrist in the season opener. During Week 9 against the New England Patriots, Jeron Johnson replaced Robinson and started the next two games. The Redskins have since turned to DeAngelo Hall and some times Kyshoen Jarrett at the position.

There is now an open roster spot, which the Redskins have until Sunday at 4 p.m. to fill.
