A Secret Service agent’s gun, badge, radio, handcuffs and flash drive were stolen from his personal car parked near the agency’s headquarters in Washington, CNN reported.

The agent’s belongings were taken out of his car, which was parked on G Place in downtown Washington around 4 p.m.

When the agent returned to his car, he noticed the rear window of his car had been “unzipped,” CNN reported, citing a report filed with the Metropolitan Police Department.

According to the report, the agent said he noticed “a bag with the listed property was taken out of the vehicle.”

The stolen items listed in the report are a black Sig Sauer handgun, an APX6000 radio, handcuffs, a USB flash drive, a black Patagonia bag and a Secret Service badge, No. 1266, according to CNN.

The agent is not named in the report, but sources told CNN he works in the Presidential Protective Division.

The agent told police that he saw a person reaching into the vehicle, but “didn’t see him take anything out,” according to the report.

The theft, which happened in broad daylight near the agency’s headquarters, is the latest blow to the Secret Service, which has grappled with several scandals in recent year related to agents’ misconduct and security lapses at the White House.
