Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has eaten into 2016 Democratic rival Sen. Bernard Sanders’ double-digit advantage in New Hampshire, according to a poll released this week on the early presidential state.
Mr. Sanders had 48 percent support to Mrs. Clinton’s 46 percent support in the Franklin Pierce University/Boston Herald poll taken from Dec. 13-17.
In a Herald/FPU survey released in October, Mr. Sanders had a 10-point, 48 percent to 38 percent lead over Mrs. Clinton.
Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley’s support was at 2 percent in both surveys.
The October survey was taken shortly before Vice President Joseph R. Biden announced he would not run for president in 2016.
With Mr. Biden’s name in the mix, Mr. Sanders had been at 38 percent, Mrs. Clinton had been at 30 percent, and Mr. Biden had been at 19 percent.
