GOP presidential contender Donald Trump laughed off the idea Tuesday that former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is a “tough guy” in a testy exchange between the rivals in the GOP presidential debate.

Mr. Bush attacked Mr. Trump after the New York billionaire accused CNN debate moderators of trying to push his rivals to attack him. Mr. Bush said if Mr. Trump thinks the attacks on the debate stage are tough then he could have a tough time as president dealing with the likes of Russian President Vladimir Putin or the threat of Islamic terrorism.

“This is a tough businesses,” Mr. Bush said.

Mr. Trump shot back, “Oh yeah, you are a tough guy, Jeb.”

“I’m at 42 [percent in the polls] and you are at 3 [percent],” Mr. Trump quipped. “You started off over here Jeb, you are moving over further and further, pretty soon you are going to be off the end” of the stage.

Mr. Trump is leading in national polls, and Mr. Bush has gradually lost ground in the race.
