Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas responded to Donald Trump’s saying he acted a little bit like a “maniac” in the Senate by posting a clip from the 1983 movie “Flashdance.”

“In honor of my friend @realDonaldTrump and good-hearted #Maniacs everywhere,” Mr. Cruz tweeted Sunday, along with a link to a montage from the movie that includes the song “Maniac.”

Mr. Trump had said on “Fox News Sunday” he doesn’t think Mr. Cruz has the right judgment to be president.

“Look at the way he’s dealt with the Senate. He goes in there, frankly, like a little bit of a maniac. You’re never going to get things done that way,” Mr. Trump said.

The Texas senator has avoided criticizing Mr. Trump publicly during the early stages of the 2016 GOP race. The two will be positioned next to one another at the prime-time Republican presidential debate on Tuesday in Las Vegas.

Mr. Cruz has pulled ahead of Mr. Trump in the latest RealClearPolitics average on the early state of Iowa, though Mr. Trump still leads nationally and in other early states.
