Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would beat Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas in head-to-head match-ups but lose to Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, according to a new poll.
Mrs. Clinton led Mr. Trump by 10 points, 50 percent to 40 percent, according to the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. Among independents, she led by 7 points, 43 percent to 36 percent, and among Hispanics, she led by 45 points, 69 percent to 24 percent.
She led Mr. Cruz by 3 points, 48 percent to 45 percent.
Mr. Rubio, meanwhile, had a 3-point, 48 percent to 45 percent lead over Mrs. Clinton and a 7-point, 44 percent to 37 percent lead over her among independents.
Mr. Carson had a 1-point, 47 percent to 46 percent lead over Mrs. Clinton, which included a 14-point, 48 percent to 34 percent lead among independents.
Mrs. Clinton was still the clear leader on the Democratic side in the poll conducted Dec. 6-9, winning 56 percent of the vote and leading Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who was at 37 percent, and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, who was at 4 percent.
