Donald Trump vowed on Thursday to issue an executive order mandating the death penalty for anyone who kills a police officer.
Mr. Trump, the Republican presidential front-runner, made the promise while speaking in Portsmouth, New Hampshire alongside the New England Police Benevolent Association, which announced its endorsement of Mr. Trump at the event.
“Anybody killing police officers, the death penalty is going to happen,” Mr. Trump said.
“I want to let you know, the police and law enforcement in this country, I will never ever let them down. The job they do and the job all you in this room do is second to none, and everyone in our country knows that.”
