Washington Wizards guards John Wall and Bradley Beal will participate in the U.S. national team’s minicamp, which begins next week in Las Vegas.
Wall and Beal will join 32 other players who will participate in the camp, which opens Aug. 11 and ends two days later with an exhibition game at the Thomas & Mack Center.
The Wizards’ duo attended the camp last year and were among the three players cut when the roster was reduced from 19 to 16.
Competition will be fierce. The Cleveland Cavaliers’ Kyrie Irving, the Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry, the Los Angeles Clippers’ Chris Paul, the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook and the Memphis Grizzlies’ Mike Conley were the other point guards invited.
Beal is among a litany of shooting guards, including the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant, the Houston Rockets’ James Harden and the Warriors’ Klay Thompson.
Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski will oversee the team, while his assistant coaches will be Jim Boeheim, Tom Thibodeau and Monty Williams.
