Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is seen cooking a strip of bacon with an assault rifle in a new video released by IJ Review.

“Few things I enjoy more than on weekends cooking breakfast with the family. Of course in Texas, we cook bacon a little differently than most folks,” the Texas senator says in the video.

A strip of bacon followed by a strip of aluminum foil are wrapped around the barrel of the gun and then Mr. Cruz fires off several rounds at an indoor range. The video doesn’t mention what gun was used.

A few moments later, Mr. Cruz is seen eating the bacon off the barrel and laughing mischievously.

“Mmm, machine gun bacon,” he says.
