Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump says he understands polling results, like on a question in a survey released Thursday, that show him receiving the most votes on the question of who GOP voters say they will definitely not support for the 2016 GOP nomination.
Speaking on CNN’s “New Day,” Mr. Trump acknowledged that he’s “a little bit severe on the other candidates and if somebody likes another candidate, they may not like what I’m saying about that candidate, so I sort of understand that.”
Mr. Trump was also well ahead of the rest of the GOP field overall in the Quinnipiac University survey at 28 percent, leading his nearest competitor by 16 points.
But six in 10 voters overall in the poll also said he does not care about the needs and problems of women.
“The women I think I’ll do great with because I cherish women,” he said, saying his daughter Ivanka, his wife Melania and other people who know him will speak to it.
