Real estate mogul and 2016 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump predicted that former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who on Monday is scheduled to visit the the town of McAllen, Texas, near the U.S.-Mexico border, will discover illegal immigrants are not coming to the United States out of an “act of love.”

“Well, I think it’s great that he’s going to the border because I think he’ll now find out that it is not an act of love,” Mr. Trump said Monday on “Fox and Friends.” “You know, he said that people crossing are crossing as an act of love, which came back to haunt him. He will find out it’s not an act of love.”

Mr. Bush has stood by the remark, which he made in early 2014. The former Florida governor and 2016 GOP presidential candidate has been targeted by Mr. Trump over immigration, among other issues.

“I was down on the border. It’s rough, tough stuff,” Mr. Trump said. “This is not love — this is other things going on, and I think he’ll probably be able to figure that out, maybe.”
