Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson on Sunday opened the door to potentially serving as Donald Trump’s running mate in 2016 — or having the real estate mogul serve as his No. 2.
In an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Mr. Carson, a retired neurosurgeon who has surged in recent polls but remains behind Mr. Trump, said the upcoming election will be a “clear choice” for the American people.
Asked directly whether he would serve as Mr. Trump’s running mate, or would entertain asking the billionaire businessman to serve as his running mate, Mr. Carson indicated it’s a possibility.
“I think all things are possible. But it’s much too early to begin such conversations,” he said.
