JPMorgan Chase, which fell prey to a major cyberattack last year, is bringing on recently retired Army chief of staff. Gen. Raymond Odierno to advise the company on managing its cybersecurity risks.

Gen Odierno’s hiring is part of the banking company’s larger effort to ramp up its digital defenses. Recent regulatory filings show JPMorgan expects to nearly double its digital defense spending to about $500 million this year, The Hill reported

Russian hackers were originally suspected to be behind the digital attack, but several Israeli and American citizens were arrested recently in connection to the hack complicated those suspicions, as the four arrested individuals have only loose ties to Russian cyber crime rings.

Earlier this month, the four-star general called Russia “the most dangerous” threat to the U.S. as the Pentagon announced it suspected Moscow was behind a hack of the Joint Chief of Staff’s unclassified email server.

JPMorgan said Gen. Odierno will represent the bank in meetings with government officials and lawmakers, The Hill reported.
