Sarah Palin has arrived at One America News, the California-based conservative cable news network which began broadcasting two years ago. She will guest host “On Point,” the network’s primetime political talk show beginning next week.
“I didn’t get into public service to do the safe and easy things. A ship in harbor is safe, but that’s not why the ship is built. I’m excited for this opportunity to give voice to so many Americans we hear from every day, and the concerns about our future, and how best to fix the problems,” Mrs. Palin says, noting that “sitting behind the desk instead of in the hot seat” is a welcome change.
Indeed, her previous provocative analysis and commentary on Fox News won her both fans and critics in the six years she was a contributor; network and former Alaska governor parted company in June. Her resume has included other forms of media outreach. Along with her countless appearances on Fox News, Mrs. Palin has spent time on reality TV. She seemed a natural - unapologetic and at home before the camera, most recently showcasing her life and family via “Amazing America” on the Sportsman Channel, and “Alaska,” seen on TLC.
One America News - which has recently taken to conducting its own national political polls - has yet to reveal if this is simply a week-long gig for Mrs. Palin, or one more permanent.
“Regardless of one’s political view, the discussions will be meaningful, while also being entertaining,” notes Robert Herring, Sr., the network’s CEO.
As a matter of disclosure: One America News and The Washington Times had a brief content sharing arrangement that ended in 2014.
