Following the announcement that Fox news anchor, and GOP debate moderator Megyn Kelly would be taking a ten day vacation earlier this week, rumors spread that her trip was prompted by her ongoing spat with 2016 GOP candidate Donald Trump.

Some speculated that Ms. Kelly was being sent on a break by Fox chairman Roger Ailes as part of a deal to appease Mr. Trump, who accused Ms. Kelly of asking him ridiculous debate questions because she had an agenda, saying she had “blood coming out of here eyes. Blood coming out of her whatever.”

In a statement Friday night, a spokesperson from Fox said those rumors were absurd, ranking “up there with UFO’s, the moon landing and Elvis being alive.”

“Megyn is on a pre-planned, annual summer vacation with her family, which is much deserved. To imply otherwise as Donald Trump and his campaign operatives have is not only wildly irresponsible, but downright bizarre,” the spokesperson said, Mediaite reported.

The spokesperson speculated that Mr. Trump was using the feud with Ms. Kelly to fuel his poll numbers, but said Mr. Ailes fully supports Ms. Kelly and her line of questioning.

“Anyone who knows Roger is aware of how historically and consistently loyal he is to all of his talent and how he protects them at all costs. As Governor Terry Branstad said today, ’when you’re a candidate, you’ve got to basically answer the questions. You can’t just attack the person asking the questions. That doesn’t work,’” the spokesperson said, Mediaite reported.
