Indianapolis-based Sun King Brewery, whose beers are sold at Colts games in Lucas Oil Stadium, cleverly trolled Tom Brady with a message hidden in the expiration date on 20,000 beer cans: “Tom Brady Sux”

The company isn’t taking blame nor credit for the jab at the now-suspended New England Patriots quarterback, instead pointing to an employee named “Biscuit” who works on the brewery’s canning line, The Indianapolis Star reported.

“It was a prank by Biscuit,” Sun King co-owner Clay Robinson said Tuesday morning.

The cans of Sun King’s Wee Mac Scottish Ale came off the line May 13, just two days after Mr. Brady was handed a four-game suspension over the “DeflateGate” scandal.

“It wasn’t an idea we came up with at all,” Mr. Robinson told the Indianapolis Star. “Every day, we change the thing on the bottom of our cans. One of the guys running the canning lines had to come up with something. Biscuit is his name. So Biscuit put ’Tom Brady Sux.’”

Sun King is known for its quirky words next to its born-on dates. During the Indianapolis 500, for example, there will be sayings like “Turn left,” or “Go fast.”

Mr. Robinson declines to reveal the true identity of Biscuit, who still works for Sun King but is now required to submit a list of sayings he plans to stamp on the bottom of the beer cans each week.

Anyone trying to get their hands on one of the “Tom Brady Sux” cans will have to hurry, as the Wee Mac brews are reaching the end of their shelf life.

“I assume most were consumed and recycled without anyone noticing,” Mr. Robinson said.
