ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - The cancellation has been canceled, and the University of Michigan now plans to screen the movie “American Sniper” after all.

The school’s Center for Campus Involvement announced Tuesday that it was dropping plans to show the Iraq war drama Friday. The Michigan Daily says students complained about portrayals of Arabs and the Middle East in the film.

But the center did an about-face Wednesday and said the movie would be shown after all, just not during Friday’s mixer. Instead, the showing will take place “in a forum that provides an appropriate space for dialogue and reflection.”

In a Facebook posting, the center says it will show the movie “separately from the upcoming UMix event.

The blockbuster is based on the autobiography of Navy Seal Chris Kyle.
