JUDSON PHILLIPS: What did Hillary Clinton know and when did she know it?

In 1973, then-Tennessee Sen. Howard Baker asked the question that was heard around the world. “What did the President know and when did he know it?”

That question now needs to be asked of Hillary Rodham Clinton. “What did she know and when did she know it?”

For Mrs. Clinton, this is supposed to be the run up to her coronation as the Democrat nominee to be president. But for Mrs. Clinton, the wheels are coming off of the campaign before it really starts rolling. For Mrs. Clinton, the albatross around her neck is her greed and the Clinton Foundation.

Almost daily, new reports are coming out about the dealings of the Clinton Foundation. At the very least it doesn’t pass the smell test and at worst it is at least probably cause to show high-level corruption when Mrs. Clinton was Secretary of State.

Cash has flowed into the Clinton Foundation from foreign governments and other interested parties. And it appears some of those governments have gotten favorable decisions or treatments while Mrs. Clinton was secretary of State. Now, because of the scrutiny, the Clinton Foundation is refiling five years’ worth of tax returns.

The issue is far deeper than just the tax returns of the Clinton Foundation. The New York Times reported on April 23rd that while cash from leaders of a Canadian mining company poured into the Clinton Foundation, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton may have signed off on approvals that allowed that company to become controlled by a Russian-owned company. That control gave Russia control of 20 percent of the world’s uranium, including uranium deposits in the United States.

The Clinton Foundation has received a number of million dollar donations and has raised more than $2 billion since it was formed after former President Bill Clinton left office. Interestingly, one-third of the million dollar-plus donations came from foreign nations.

Mrs. Clinton famously used a private email account during her tenure as Secretary of State so much of the email communications that would ordinarily be archived by the government isn’t there. Following the public discovery of this, she wiped the email server and said there is nothing there.

The very obvious question that needs to be asked is did some of those emails that Mrs. Clinton is doing her best to hide come from the Clinton Foundation? Was Hillary Clinton being told about donations to the foundation and were those donations being used to influence her?

In the 1990s, the Clintons sold access to the White House to the Chinese government. In exchange, the Chinese were eventually allowed access to ballistic missile technology that helped advance their ICBM program.

Nothing ever changes for the Clintons.

In criminal cases, juries are told that if a person has evidence in their control and they deliberately destroy that evidence, the jury may assume they knew that evidence would hurt them.

Many people ask why Mrs. Clinton was so adamant she would not release her emails and even risked criminal charges by having her server completely erased. What is so damning in those emails that the Clinton camp would have to go to such extraordinary lengths?

Even the left-wing media is tiring of the Clinton antics. If Hillary Clinton were a Republican, there would already be a grand jury empaneled. Everyone knows how much the Obamas and Clintons hate each other, so it is not beyond the realm of possibility that the Department of Justice might start an inquiry.

This is certainly an inquiry that Congress should take up immediately.

Someone in Congress needs to ask the question: “What did Hillary know and when did she know it?”
