Republicans arguably owe their majorities in Congress today to voters’ fury last fall with Barack Obama’s presidential – and increasingly anti-Constitutional and even imperial – overreach.
Post-election, the GOP leadership has betrayed that mandate, again and again. It is teeing up to do so three more times in the next few days.
The Senate is expected to confirm Loretta Lynch as the next U.S. attorney general, even though she told legislators she concurred that President Obama could rewrite laws, as he effectively did with his executive amnesty for millions of illegal aliens.
Congress may also relinquish the right to perform quality control on two hugely problematic international deals involving Pacific trade arrangements and Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
It’s bad enough that Mr. Obama has serially betrayed his oath of office. Congress must stop enabling this malfeasance.
