“Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson says that Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal has his support if he decides to run for president in 2016.
“Bobby is a great man; he’s a great godly man,” Mr. Robertson said on Fox News Radio’s “Kilmeade & Friends.” “I know the values he has, and I’m the kind of guy where I really like smart people, ’cause I’m a guy who hires a lot of smart people, ’cause I don’t feel like I’m the smartest guy, but I have a lot of smart people with me, and that guy is one of the smartest guys I’ve ever met in my life. “
Mr. Jindal, a Rhodes Scholar, also attended Brown University. He has said he’ll make a decision on a presidential run once the state’s legislative session finishes up in June.
“He is young, but he’s got the values, I think he’s got the intelligence to do it, and I’d love to see him run, and I’d love for him to get in the mix,” Mr. Robertson said.
Mr. Jindal defended family patriarch Phil Robertson in the past after A&E suspended him from the show in the wake of anti-comments the elder Robertson made. The family has also dabbled in Louisiana politics in recent years on both sides of races involving former Rep. Vance McAllister, who won a special election in 2013 but lost in 2014 after being caught on videotape kissing a staffer.
