COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina is receiving $20 million for transportation projects in Columbia and at the Wando Terminal in Mount Pleasant.

U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn on Tuesday announced the grants called Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery or TIGER.

About $10 million is going to Columbia to revitalize more than 1 mile of North Main Street. The other $11 million is going to the port terminal for renovations so that it can handle a new generation of larger container ships.
