Though he has repeatedly claimed he will not make another run at the White House, 2012 Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is certain that he would do a better job in the position than Democratic favorite Hillary Rodham Clinton.
“No question about that in my mind,” Mr. Romney said on “Fox News Sunday” when asked if he’d make a better commander in chief than Mrs. Clinton, according to CBS.
“You have to have people who understand what it takes to create jobs and to help people come out of poverty, to help the middle class to have a better and prosperous future. You’ve got to have that understanding,” Mr. Romney said, according to the news website.
He also criticized Mrs. Clinton — who has been first lady, secretary of state and a U.S. senator — and President Obama for lacking the administrative skills needed to run the United States, calling them “two peas in a pod.”
“The government of the United States is the largest enterprise in the world. You watched a president who just doesn’t understand how to make an administration work, how to interact with Congress, how to get things done. You have to have those things. I don’t think Hillary Clinton has that experience,” he said, according to CBS.
He also again on Sunday denied he’d seek the presidency in 2016. Mrs. Clinton has also not made an official announcement about a White House run but recently revealed she will announce her decision early in the new year. Mrs. Clinton has long been seen as a Democratic favorite in 2016, and so far polls have shown her edging out top Republican contenders in the contest.
