OPINION:
Twenty-two years ago, the residents of South Central Los Angeles didn’t care for the first verdict in the Rodney King trial, so they decided to make their displeasure known. The result was 53 innocent people killed, a large portion of the city burned down and the infamous photos of Reginald Denny after Mr. Denny was pulled out of this truck and his head was crushed with bricks while the thugs who did it danced for the cameras. All this was pre-Al Sharpton.
It’s pretty safe to say we are going to see much of the same if that same element isn’t happy with the outcome of the police Officer Darren Wilson trial. In fact, they may even burn and loot if they get the verdict they want, in celebration.
An even sorrier outcome of the Ferguson, Mo., story is the outpouring of condemnation and death threats against Officer Wilson by the media, celebrities and even politicians. These same people totally ignore the recent violent history of Michael Brown, aka the “innocent kid,” the “gentle giant.” It is indeed a shame that an 18-year-old is dead and that his parents are grieving. Anyone who is a parent can understand that grief, but what’s become the aftermath of the death is an even greater tragedy.
This is the America that the radical left has created, owning as it does the media, entertainment and education systems. It routinely incites racial hatred and class warfare. Well, they wanted it and they got it, but now the rest of us have to live with it also. Or do we?
