Google is not a friendly social media publisher — it’s instead more like a government, said WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, via a hologram appearance at the Nantucket Project Summit in Massachusetts.
Google wants to “collect as much information about the world as is possible, store it, index it, make predictive models about people’s interests and use that to sell advertising,” Mr. Assange said, via hologram mode, The Daily Caller reported.
He then added: This is “basically what the National Security Agency is doing,” the news outlet reported.
Hologram USA made Mr. Assange’s appearance possible. He was at his residence at Ecuador’s embassy in London, the site where he’s sought political asylum since 2012. The government of Sweden seeks to question Mr. Assange over rape and sexual molestation accusations — charges that he denies.
Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt calls the WikiLeaks creator “paranoid,” The Daily Caller reported.
