Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will headline a Nevada reception next week in order to raise money for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Mrs. Clinton will attend an Oct. 13 reception and dinner to raise money for the Nevada Democratic Party and for Mr. Reid’s campaign before she heads to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas to speak at the UNLV Foundation dinner.

An invitation for the event was posted to the “Reid Nevada Fund” website, a fundraising hub for Mr. Reid and the state Democratic party.

Tickets for the reception are priced at $1,000 per person. VIP tickets, which include dinner and a photo op are $10,000 per person and $15,000 per couple.

Mr. Reid isn’t up for re-election until 2016, but could face another tricky battle after barely surviving a challenge in 2010.

Mrs. Clinton, who is considering a bid for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, has come under fire for charging a $225,000 speaking fee for the UNLV dinner. Some students have demanded Mrs. Clinton donate the money back to the school, which is planning incremental tuition increases in the coming years.

University officials say the seats for the dinner have sold out, bringing in $353,000, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
