Politicians in France are howling after learning that police in Turkey mistakenly freed three suspected French jihadis who had previously traveled to Syria.
Attorneys for the three men said they aren’t on the run, and police can question them any time they desire, The Associated Press reported. But politicos aren’t appeased.
Defense Minister Jean-Tves Le Drian described the situation as a “huge foul-up” that occurred because of shoddy police collaboration with Turkish authorities, AP reported.
One of the freed men is the former brother-in-law of a killed extremist who headed up a terrorist killing spree in France in 2012, AP reported.
