PORT HURON, Mich. (AP) — Construction has finished in St. Clair County on part of a $1.3 billion Enbridge oil pipeline replacement project.
Enbridge Inc. tells the Times Herald of Port Huron (https://bwne.ws/1mp1jqq ) that construction crews will stay in the area to complete land restoration until winter. Enbridge says the oil should flow through the replacement line by month’s end.
Calgary, Alberta-based Enbridge began work in the county last fall. It’s part of a 50-mile stretch of pipeline replacement through Michigan’s Oakland, Macomb and St. Clair counties.
The project is replacing a line that now carries crude oil from Sarnia, Ontario, to Griffith, Indiana.
St. Clair Township resident Melissa Woodman says crews came through her yard. She says they were noisy but efficient and are now putting everything back where it was originally.
