PHILADELPHIA — DeSean Jackson is active and will play Sunday afternoon against his former team when the Redskins play the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.
Jackson, listed as questionable on the injury report, separated his left shoulder in the Redskins’ victory over Jacksonville last week and was only able to go through what coach Jay Gruden said was a “very limited” practice on Friday.
The wide receiver was released by Philadelphia in March after six seasons and signed with the Redskins four days later.
“If it’s all on me, I’m playing,” he said Wednesday. “I don’t plan on missing this game.”
Defensive end Kedric Golston, hampered by a strained left groin, is inactive and will not play for the second consecutive week. Golston, listed as doubtful on the injury report, worked out with strength and conditioning coach Ray Wright on the field three hours prior to the game to see if he could play. He strained the muscle in the season-opener at Houston and missed the game against the Jaguars last week.
Center Kory Lichtensteiger, who strained a groin muscle in practice this week and was listed as questionable on the injury report, will be available to play against the Eagles. So, too, is kicker Kai Forbath, who strained his right groin in practice last week and was also questionable to play.
Fullback Darrel Young (sprained neck) will play against Philadelphia, as will three others listed on the injury report who were able to complete a full practice all week: Outside linebacker Brian Orakpo, left guard Shawn Lauvao and running back Roy Helu.
The Redskins previously ruled out quarterback Robert Griffin III, who dislocated his left ankle against Jacksonville and will miss at least another month, as well as tight end Jordan Reed (strained left hamstring), cornerback Tracy Porter (unspecified hamstring injury) and inside linebacker Akeem Jordan (sprained MCL in left knee).
Also inactive for the Redskins on Sunday will be wide receiver Santana Moss and rookie left tackle Morgan Moses, who made his debut last week.
Philadelphia previously announced inside linebacker Mychal Kendricks will not play after straining his right calf in Monday’s game against Indianapolis. Also inactive for the Eagles are third quarterback Matt Barkley, safety Earl Wolff, wide receiver Josh Huff, left guard Matt Tobin, right tackle Kevin Graf and defensive end Taylor Hart.
