WASHINGTON — The Republican National Committee again outraised its Democratic rival last month and is sitting on a $3 million lead, according to campaign finance reports filed Saturday.
The RNC raised $10.1 million in August and has $14.5 million in the bank to pay for polling, data and get-out-the-vote efforts for November’s midterm elections. The filing also shows the RNC spent heavily last month, unleashing almost $9.5 million in spending.
The Democratic National Committee on Friday reported raising $7.4 million last month but also owing almost $2 million to vendors. The DNC spent more than $5.8 million last month and has more than $11 million saved.
The RNC has outraised the DNC in 11 of the last 20 months. But the DNC prevailed in six of the first seven months this year.
The RNC has now raised more than $150 million since January 2013. The DNC has now raised almost $133 million.
