Bill Maher joked on Friday that a federal investigation clearing New Jersey Governor Chris Christie of any wrongdoing in the “Bridgegate” scandal might not be going over well with MSNBC staffers.

“The flags were flying at half-mast today at MSNBC,” the HBO “Real Time” host said,”because the Justice Department are about to put out a report that found no evidence Chris Christie ordered the Bridgegate scandal or even knew about it beforehand,” Mediaite reported.

Mr. Christie was the subject of harsh scrutiny from media outlets after staffers from his office ordered lane closures at the George Washington Bridge in September last year, causing a traffic delays for Fort Lee commuters.

Mr. Christie claimed he had no knowledge of his staff’s decision to shut down the lanes and a federal investigation was launched nine months ago.

“So eat it, haters! Eat it with your hands … like Chris Christie does with lasagna,” Mr. Maher joked.
